INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Higher Horizons Head Start/Early Head Start and George Mason University George Mason University have partnered to give undergraduate and graduate school students the opportunity to become student interns at Higher Horizons Day Center, Inc. Student interns will gain hands-on experience in both Early Head Start and Head Start classrooms.

As a part of their internship, the interns will work closely with the children, parents, and teachers of Higher Horizons to gain the experience they need to become effective teachers, family services advocates and health care professionals. As interns become familiar with the children’s routines they will begin to take on certain duties such as recording daily observation notes of children, planning daily and weekly activities, and meeting with parents.
